Paradise Aviation

This 154,000 square foot project consisting of seven custom private aviation facilities to accommodate jets for corporate and resort executives is situated on 10 acres at McCarran International Airport. The new facility includes a three-story terminal building and seven aircraft hangars, each with attached offices/garage stalls.

This exclusive facility meets a growing need in Las Vegas for corporations and resorts requesting state-of-the-art accommodations for private jets at one of the world’s busiest airports. Being situated at McCarran International Airport with direct access to the runway was strategically essential so that tenants can depend on immediate flights to international markets. The hangars range from 13,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, not including office space. They sell for $3.5 million to $10 million.
The project was developed by the Molasky Group of Companies, designed by Tushie Montgomery Architects and built by Las Vegas-based Martin-Harris Construction.

Hangar walls were tilt-up panels up to 70 feet tall, with steel roof joists spanning up to 180 feet. All work had to be performed around the strict requirements of the FAA & TSA security measures.

Hangar 7 features a high, glassed-walled entry with long cantilevered roof elements that seem to float in the air with little visible means of support. To accommodate the angles and curves, the structural steel framing system made extensive use of radiused steel framing members. The cutting-edge design, trendsetting architecture and the extraordinarily high-level of finishes at this private aircraft hangar is unmatched in the Las Vegas market and serves as an invaluable business aviation resource.

Hangar 7 is truly unique: It features an interior rock climbing wall that rises multiple floors. Carpets for the private offices were custom made to fit the rooms in one piece. The receptionist’s desk is made from an engine cowl of a 747 engine, polished brightly to match all of the stainless steel used in the building. A specialty contractor worked continuously on installing custom fabricated stainless steel for over a year. All office walls are either book matched wood or Venetian plaster. The owner has commissioned an artist to paint a full size mural on the hangar walls.

This property was a build-to-suit that takes exception to the idea of the traditional “big-box” hangar. Its imaginative architecture and innovative design present a first-class environment and top flight business resource.
